He was predeceased by: his father James Stangel; his granddaughter Jolene; and his close friend Brad Nernberger. He is survived by: his mother Janet Stangel (Biersteker); his wife Jill Rueckert; his children, Danielle Stangel (Trevor Kurowski), Michael Stangel, Cody Stangel, Casey Stangel and Kylee Stangel; his grandchildren, Taylan (Austin), Teagan (Ethan), Trinity, Levi, Cat, Hunter, Dawson, Mila, Kenna, Rylee and Danica; his sisters, Kandi Fischer (Jeff) and Renee Ohrmundt (Robert); his sister-in-law Tricia Zima (Jay); his parents-in-law, Charles and Diana Rueckert; and his siblings' children, Nikki, Kayla, Adam and Bryson. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.
