He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Mauer and Julia Mauer (Langenfeld); and his siblings, Rosetta, Kathleen, Loretta, Ralph, Elroy, Eugene, Claude, Henry and Edward.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Onnink Donath; his children, Sarah Lange (Bob), John Mauer, Bob Mauer (Kelly), Sue Stokdyk (Warren), Jeff Mauer (Chela), Pork Mauer (Brenda) and Mary Andrews (Brian); his grandchildren, Ashley Lange, Kyle Lange (Bri), Brittany Lange, Ryan Mauer (Becca), Bill Mauer (Lindley), Bethany Mauer, Seth Mauer (Erin), Chelsey Luft (Justin), Tess Mauer, Matthew Stokdyk, Janna Stokdyk, Brady Mauer (Erin), McKenna Kisiolek (Adam), Paige Wallner (Tony) and Caden Wallner; his great grandchildren, Jane Lange, Rinella Lange, Brennan, Elliot, Nolan Mauer, Grace, Charli Mauer, Ariana Sperhake, Gabby, Carrie Jane Mauer, Duncan Luft and Jace Methfessel; his sister Mary Jane Huibregtse; and his caregivers, Jayne, Cynthia and Lisa. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Blessed Trinity, Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, and Heart of the Nation Catholic Mass.
