She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Montpetit and Goldie Montpetit (Leske); her husband James Boerner; her parents-in-law, Martin and Mary Boerner; her siblings, Ione Newton, Gloria Kilbride, Diane Kapuscinski, Robert Montpetit, David Montpetit and William Montpetit; and her grandson Mitchell Hansen.

She is survived by: her children, Lisa Hansen (Steve), Jim Boerner (Lisa), Janelle Goking (Jim) and Mary Walch (John); her grandchildren, Molly Steffes (Scott), Jack Goking (Vivian Dang), Craig Gerber (Amir Rizvic) and Katherine Walch; and her brother Daniel Montpetit (Rita Smith). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in Phyllis' memory can be made to Fresh Meals on Wheels of Sheboygan County or Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
