He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Buhler and Helen Buhler (Keller); his daughter Maria Dawn Buhler (Joey Badora); and his brother Bobby Beninghaus. He is survived by: his friends, Nancy Winkel, Lynn, Sharon Proefrock, Tim Thiel, Tom and Lee Anne Gilson; his wife Dawn; his sons, Mitchell and Michael; his brother Gary Buhler (Kris); his siblings-in-law, Denise Dicke, Derrick Dicke, Danette Mary St (Joe) and Dwight Dicke; his brother Tommy Beninghaus; his siblings' children, Matthew St. Andre, Krystle St. Andre (Andrew Jacklin), Nathen Nysse (Jill) and Matthew Nysse (Nicole); his friends, Mike and Dyan Badora; and also, Darold and Collette. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

After Covid, Curt along with his wife Dawn joined a Bible Study Group with their great friends Tom & Lee Anne Gilson.

A memorial fund to be determined has been established in Curt's name.
