He is survived by: his wife Diane Wilkens; his children, Nicole Higgins (Nels), Jason Wilkens (Jolene), Patrick Verhelst (Debbie) and Peggy Fischer (James); his grandchildren, Elliott Higgins, Emily Higgins (Emery Byus), Autumn Wilkens, Carson Wilkens, Kinley Wilkens, Bennet Wilkens, Hannah Cappilla (Aaron), Gabrielle Fischer, Gaven Verhelst and Hailey Verhelst; and his great grandchildren, Jimmy Cappilla and Sophia Cappilla.
