He was predeceased by: his parents, Kermit Martin and Marie Margaret Scheunert (Neuy); his wife Claire B. Hutchinson; and his sister Shirley Splinter. He is survived by: his children, Steven Scheunert, Jeff Scheunert (Annmarie), Heidi Conto (Kevin), Lisa Broderick (Clifford), Greg Johns (Pam), Randy Johns (Kris), Terry Johns (Naomi) and Scott Johns (Julie); and his sister Sue Berndt (Ken). He is also survived by his 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in James' honor. The family will be making a donation to the El Salvador church and families in El Salvador, where a part of his heart will always remain.
