She was predeceased by: her parents, Jim Dassler and LaVonne Dassler; her mother-in-law Luetta Barber (Reggie); her siblings-in-law, Bill Van Wyk and Shelly Porten; her nephew Eli Hovey; and her son Shawn Van Wyk.
She is survived by: her husband Steve; her daughter Stacy Backus (Jon); her sister Kelly Hovey (Michael); her father-in-law Peter Van Wyk (Delores); and her sisters-in-law, Renee Van Wyk and Mary Van Wyk. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions to the Shawn Van Wyk Memorial Foundation.
