LaVerne left this world on September 28, 2025 at the age of 97, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur, Sr. Steffen and Nelda Steffen; her husband Roy Schlieder; her siblings, Arthur Steffen, Jr. (Lucille) and Delores Strains (Roland); and her brother-in-law Ralph Schlieder (Geri).
She is survived by: her sons, Sam (Kathi), Dan (Frieda), Dave (Julie), Tim (Debbie), Tom (Colleen) and Jim Schlieder (Kim); her grandchildren, Mark Schlieder, Christopher Schlieder (Cindy), Elizabeth Schlieder, Erika Schlieder (Ian Clare), Zach Schlieder (Katie), Drew Schlieder, Naomi Schlieder (Kyle Kolb), Sarah Douglas (Brad), Molly, Rebecca and Maggie Schlieder; and her stepgrandchildren, Cathy Franke (Jeremy) and Jim Wettstein. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice or Our Savior's Lutheran Church in memory of LaVerne.
