He is survived by: his wife Maria D. Aguirre (Villarreal); his sons, Luis Aguirre Jr. (Jennifer Schulze-Aguirre), Alfredo Aguirre (Claudia) and Jaime Aguirre (Regina); and his grandchildren, Saul M. Aguirre-Villarreal, Marcelo Aguirre, Mia Aguirre, Jordan N. Aguirre, Joaquin O. Aguirre, Jorge E. Salazar, Andrea M. Salazar and Sofia C. Salazar. He is also survived by 15 brothers and sisters, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
