He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Kruse and Marion Lietzau Kruse; his brothers, Robert and Ken Kruse; and his sister-in-law Frances Kruse.

He is survived by: his wife Susan Kruse of Sheboygan; his sons, Jason Kruse (Michelle) of Madison, Michael Kruse (Amanda) of Madison and Greg Kruse (Katlyn) of Milwaukee; his grandchildren, Clay, Sam, Gabe and Bella; his siblings, Marilyn Cornell (Charlie) of Sheboygan, Jim Kruse of Sheboygan and Joe Kruse (Debbie) of Appleton; and his caregivers, Hope and Wendy.
