He was predeceased by: his wife Doris; his parents, Leo and Helen; his brother Wayne (Dorothy); and his brother-in-law Bob.

He is survived by: his children, Sue Bartel (Dave), Ami Carpenter (Russ), Bethe Wright (Bill), Tim Halbrook (Paula) and Mary Hudson (Phil); his grandchildren, Jenny Stencil (Kevin), Jon Bartel (Tawny), Nick Bartel (Nikki), Josh Wright (Carli), Whitney Vaughn (Chase), Troy Carpenter (Lauren), Meg Carpenter, Jessica Halbrook and Helen Hudson; his great grandchildren, Jaymes, Jonah, Austin, Hank, Brady, Ellie, Nico, Davey, Eddy, Juniper, Holden, Ivy, Mia, Olivia and Emma; and his siblings, Dick Halbrook (Bette) and Joan Warner.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friends of Ephraim-Gibraltar Airport where funds would be used for youth flying lessons.
