He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Johnson and Donna Johnson (Erickson); and his brother Terry Carlson. He is survived by: his wife Carla Ann Lang; his children, Gina Tesnow (James) of Port Edwards, WI, Joey Johnson of St. Petersburg, FL and Jeremia Johnson (Sarah) of Grafton; his grandchildren, Kori, Rylee and Emma Alarie (Brayden); his siblings, Suzan Krishka (Dennis) and Jay Carlson (Barb); and his siblings' children, Tanya, Justin, Daniel and Michael.
