She was predeceased by: her parents, William Weiss and Minnie Weiss (Sauer); her former husband Paul Schaefer; her husband John T. Schmitz, MD; her siblings, William Weiss (Maureen), Mary Weiss and Kathleen Geletko (Joseph); her stepchildren-in-law, Darcy Schmitz, Jayne Schmitz and Bill Bergstrom; and her sister-in-law Mary Lou Weiss.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia Padilla (Luis), Karen Schaefer (William Corbett), Mary Ann Schaefer, Janet Wood (James Wesley) and Teresa Erickson (Jeffrey); her stepchildren, Gerard Schmitz (Pam Joy), Marynell Lubinski (Olga Falcon), John Schmitz, Theodore Schmitz, Sue Schmitz and Kathleen Schmitz (Doug Pierce); her brother James Weiss; and her sister-in-law Mary Ann Schmitz. She is also survived by grandchildren; step-grandchildren; great grandchildren; and step-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Serenity Spring Senior Living (10560 Applewood Rd, Sister Bay, WI 54234). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. Matthew Parish (9303 S Chicago Rd, Oak Creek, WI 53154). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM and at 11:00 PM.
