He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Orin, Dorothy Smith (Spudick), William and Delphine Johnson (McArdle); and his parents-in-law, Jane Zak Maufort, Sebastian Zak and Joseph Maufort.
He is survived by: his parents, John Smith and Bonita "Bonnie" Smith (Johnson); his wife Diane Zak Sitte; his son Erik Smith of Howard; his stepchildren, Laurie Stafford (Joe) of Neenah and Michael Sitte (Brittney Voss) of Greendale; his stepgrandchildren, Aaron Stafford and Briar Sitte; his brothers, Bryon Smith (Joni Doyle) and Doug Smith (Michael Smith-Meulemans) of Baileys Harbor; and his siblings-in-law, Christine Ohman (Duane), Beverly Brungraber (Wayne) of Little Sturgeon, Darrel Zak (Sandra), Theresa Jeanquart (Eric Landen) of Iron Mountain, MI and Jennifer Stallsmith (Brad) of Green Bay. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Stella Maris Parish-Sister Bay (2410 S Bay Shore Dr, Sister Bay, WI 54234). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
