He was predeceased by: his parents, Willliam and Georgianna; and his children, Donald and Laurie. He is survived by: his wife Betty Schwentner; his sons, Mark Merten (Brenda) and David Merten (Bonnie); and his half-brother Jim Koenig. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
