He was predeceased by: his mother Barbara Zabel (Roehl); his daughter Terra; his niece Taylor Tisch; and his father-in-law Robert Linskens. He is survived by: his father Robert Zabel; his wife Bev Linskens; his daughter Tracy Carriveau (Scott Schoen); his grandchildren, Dakota Carriveau (Kari) and Chase Carriveau; his great grandchild Charlie Ann; his siblings, Jim Zabel (Sue), Steve Zabel (Debbie), Gina Greetan (Gaylin) and Sandy Schroeder (Dan); his mother-in-law Sue Ziemer; his siblings-in-law, Nancy Hagens (Jon), Shirley Clinebell (Mike) and Steve Linskens; his nieces and nephews, Corina Graham (Chris Duprey), Kyle Zabel (Kristen), Zac Tisch, Hannah Schroeder (Carter Liebscher), Kevin Clinebell (Sarah) and Scott Clinebell (Katie); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaitlyn, Kalli Graham, Abel, Tatum, Kason, Braxton and Madison Zabel. He is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.
