She was predeceased by: her parents, Nels Westerlund and Margaret Westerlund (Olson); and her husband Carl. She is survived by: her daughter Louise Meitzner (Karl); and her grandchildren, Sunshine Meitzner and Jet Meitzner. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ruth also had a passion for quilting and would donate her quilts to the church groups.
