He was predeceased by: his mother Helen Applegate (Hoholek); Joyce Hecht. He is survived by: his father Frank Applegate; his significant other Anthony Hecht; his brother Ken Applegate (Jean); his nieces and nephews, Shane Applegate (Lauren) and Kallie Applegate; his sister Patricia Barnes (Patrick); his nieces and nephews, Erin Barnes Brown (Austin) and Blake Barnes (Elizabeth); and his uncle Fred Applegate (Louise). He is also survived by 4 grandnieces, numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Anne School endowment, the CCWW, or a charity important to the donor.
