He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Tina Balaka and Richard Lee Balaka (Evangeline); his grandchildren, Richard James Balaka and Annika Rei Balaka; his siblings, Charles Vogel, Betty Balaka, Linda Haslbeck (late Jim), Robert Balaka (Colleen), Carol Bombeck (Ed) and Barbara Turner (Mike); his parents, Francis Balaka and Audrey; and his daughter Sonya. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
