He was predeceased by: his parents, Kermit Helmke and Marlene Helmke (Ludeking); his wife Judy; and his brother Merlyn. He is survived by: his family, Jill Helming (Richard) of Warrens, Sarah Briggs (Daniel) of Warrens, Joanna Archer (David) of Hortonville, WI and Suzanne Williams of Antioch, CA; his grandchildren, David Helming (Miranda), Zachary Helming (Amy Bryant), Ashleigh Brand (Joe), Alysha Wilbanks, Charyl Norris, Tatianna Jensen-Briggs (Caleb), Bryce Archer and Spencer Archer; his great grandchildren, Harper, Adley, Holden Helming, Zaylee Brand, Harmoni, Gabriel, Josie, Sylas and Romeo Wilbanks; his siblings, Keith Helmke (Jill) of Park City, UT and Christine Maxis (Ike) of Miamisburg, OH; his brother-in-law Fred Bohlmann (Colette) of Cedarburg, WI; and his stepmother Helene Helmke of Dayton, OH. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members, and close friends.

The family requests that memorials be given to St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church and School in Tomah.
