He is survived by: his wife Carol (Garves); his stepchildren, Ryan Hoover (Samantha) of St. Paul, Mark Hoover of Rochester and Laura Lorenz (Travis) of Winona; and his stepgrandchildren, Evie Lorenz (Aiden), Faith Lorenz (Cody), Michael Hoover and Stella Hoover.
