He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Brueggen and Margaret Brueggen (Mlsna); his son Joseph; his siblings, Paul, Roger Brueggen, Sylverius Brueggen (Betty), Bernadine Klinkner (Leonard), Dolores Leis (George), Chuck Brueggen (Theresa), Harry Brueggen (Marie), Angie Dickman (Bob), Del Marie Hemmersbach (Arnold) and Philip Brueggen; and his brother-in-law Henry Geier.
He is survived by: his wife MaryAnn Hemmersbach of Mary's Ridge; his children, Jim Brueggen (Laura), Curt Brueggen (Sue), Rick Brueggen (Lori), Kristine Erickson (Randy), Gary Brueggen (Brianne) and Judy Biever (Brad); his grandchildren, Jared (Katie), Dan (Casey), Adam (Ally), Andy (Leah), Amber (Ethan), Angel (Devon), Mason, Matelynn, Maverick Brueggen, Rachel, Chloe Erickson, Dillon, Matthew and Grace Biever; his stepgrandchildren, Caitie Majewski (Tyler), Kristen Simons (Cody), Erin Kennedy (Mike) and Tim Ross (Toni); his great grandchildren, Beckett, Kiersten Brueggen, Ellie, Kaleah, Riley, Aria, Hudsen, Avery Brueggen, Watson, Duke Sebranek and Kendal Christopherson; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Natalie, Brodie, Fynlie Majewski, Cailey, Wyatt, Amelya Simons, Easton, Emmett, Charlotte, Callen Kennedy, Tigue, Torren, Tiernan and Titus Ross; his sister Florentine Geier; and his sisters-in-law, Madonna and Betty Brueggen.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 3:45 PM, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (319 W Main St, Sparta, WI 54656). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery (26400 Co Hwy U, Cashton, WI 54619).
