He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Shirek and Tillie Shirek (Vakoc); his siblings, Butch, Gary Shirek and Ruth Danczyk; and his father-in-law Sylvester Kurzinski.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara J. Kurzinski; his children, Melanie Raikowski (Sonny), Jennifer Shirek, Kate Shirek and Timothy Shirek (Amber); his siblings, Sharon Hollar (Bob), Janice Rozek (Len) and Dale Shirek (Karen); his sisters-in-law, Phylis Shirek, Jeanette Shirek and Pat Oligney; his mother-in-law Sharon Kurzinski; his brothers-in-law, Dennis Danczyk, Mike Kurzinski (Michelle) and Steve Kurzinski (Jenny); and his godchildren, Wendy Lane, Kasey Sandev and Gail Ehn. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St Paul Lutheran Church (1919 Wyatt Ave, Stevens Point, WI 54481). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location.
