We announce the death of Gene J. Sprague of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, who passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 68. Gene will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Sprague and Loretta Sprague (Ostrowski); his siblings, Harold Sprague and Kari Bryant; and his brothers-in-law, Gregory Giles, David Wolfe, LeRoy Wolfe (Connie) and David Peplinski (Sandra Wolfe).
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Wolfe; his children, Brett Sprague (Megan) of Stevens Point, Sara Sprague of Junction City, Michelle Salter of Merrill, Darlene Pospichal (Eric Callaway) of Depere, Colleen Adams of Wausau, Jessica Kartes (Dan) of Wausau and Christina Pombera (Rich) of Weston; and his mother-in-law Velma Wolfe of Junction City. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Martens/Rembs Funeral Home (124 Main St, Junction City, WI 54443). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
