With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Jerome Wanta of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, who passed away on October 15, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamina Gagas and Florian Wanta; his siblings, Tony Wanta, Leona Wiernik and Phyllis Kostuchowski; his parents-in-law, Madeline and Richard Kubisiak; and his siblings-in-law, Joe Piesik, Donald Wiernik, Cheryl Hoena Schiefelbein, Charlotte Kosloski and Celeste Seefelt.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Kubisiak; his children, Carrie Ullman (Scott) of Stevens Point, Jason Wanta (Denise Jaskie) of Stevens Point and JoLynn Foti (Tim) of New Berlin; his grandchildren, Brooke, Bryce Ullman, Lily Meronek (Thomas), Mallory Wanta, Emerson, Charlotte and Aubrey Jo Foti; his great grandchild Lorelei Meronek; his siblings, David Wanta (Marlene Duda), Linda Piesik and Mary King (Robert); and his siblings-in-law, Robert Kustuchowski, Gordon Kubisiak (Janet), Lee Kubisiak, Pat Wanta and Cindy Suchowski (Ron).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Shuda Funeral Chapel (3200 Stanley St, Stevens Point, WI 54481). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
