He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sommer and Mildred Sommer; his brother Jerry Sommer; and his siblings-in-law, Sally, Marvin Mielke and Jim Guetschow.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his children, Shawn Sommer (Lonnie) and Laura Sommer O'Brien (Bill O'Brien); his grandchildren, Lia, Ian, Ela, Colin and Owen; his siblings, Beverly Mielke, Doug Sommer (Brigitte), Barb Guetschow and Don Sommer (Sue); and his brothers-in-law, Dave (Pam) and Daryl Hanson (Carla). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and countless other family and friends.
