He is survived by: his children, Julie, Elizabeth and Jon; and his grandchildren, Lauren Smith of Minneapolis, MN and Collin Smith of Stevens Point, WI..

“My sincere sympathy to the Pike family. I learned of Richard's passing today when I stopped at the living center to visit. I am sad. He was a delightful and interesting special man. We spent time together after both our spouses passed. We enjoyed concerts, lunch at Emmy's, and always wonderful conversation. and solving the world's problems. I still chuckle at his story that he was a yellow dog Democrat...and I was a Republican. Being in Marshfield was a problem. Rest in peace, Richard.”
