He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thorpe and Patricia Olson Thorpe; and his brother James "Buford" Thorpe. He is survived by: his son John Thorpe Jr. (Jen); his grandchildren, Braydon of Stoughton, Breeliegh of Stoughton, Tanner of Stoughton and Trenton of Stoughton; his stepgrandson Logan; his sister Ann of Edgerton; his nephew Andrew; his half-brother Mike Peterson of Solon Springs; and his sibling's children, Tanya (Rick) of DePere and Josh Peterson (Jenn) of Solon Springs. He is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.
