He is survived by: his children, Carrie Bernitt of Auburndale, Jessie Bernitt of Milwaukee, Dana Bernitt of Auburndale and Cody Bernitt of Milwaukee; his grandchildren, Alex, Oliver, Ella and Dylan; his siblings, Amy Smith (Vaughn) of Westboro, Douglas Bernitt (Peggy) of Auburndale and Gary Bernitt (Kevin) of Auburndale; his siblings-in-law, Clifford Hamus (Ruthie), Terry Hamus (Deb) and Roy Hamus; and his nieces and nephews, Bob Smith, Sherry Rose, Laura Rautmann, Josh Bernitt, Allison Seitz, Sheila Malwitz and Steve Hamus.
