He was predeceased by : his parents, Antonio Paredes and Concepsion Paredes Sr. (Villanueva); and his siblings, Eloy, Jose Angel, Juan, Josefina and Maria Elena.

He is survived by : his wife Rosa Reyes; his children, Jose (Eileen), Robert (Maria), Rosa John (Kevin), Marco (Diana), Sylvia (Jose Luis Ordonez) and Joe; his grandchildren, Amy, Maria Celeste, Marta, Alberto, Ciara, Natalia, Caleb and Luna; and his siblings, Arturo, Rosa and Chavela. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
