With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of JoAnn Staats (Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 25, 2026 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Nina Robinson (Sears) and Marion Robinson; her husband Earl Staats Sr.; her brothers, Travis Robinson (Lucille), Marion Robinson Jr. and Irwin Robinson; her granddaughter Tayler Nieft; and her siblings-in-law, Marie Vertz (Clarence), Harold (Arlyss), Lloyd and Ernest Staats (Gladys).
She is survived by: her pets, Curly, Larry and Lucky; her children, Donna Staats (Brian Conners), Dawn Nieft (Michael), Earl Staats Jr. and Nathan Copet; her grandchildren, Alissa Rodriguez (Juan), Brandon Weber (Sheena) and Adam Nieft (Shawna); her great grandchildren, Quentin, Sebastian, Raiden, Dante, Jayde and Decker; her sisters, Randean Kussow (Jake) and Beverly Robinson; and her sister-in-law Joan Robinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Door County Humane Society or St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
