He was predeceased by: his parents, Nels DeMeuse and Marie DeMeuse (Kraft); his daughters, Pam Karnitz-Wiegand and Amy; his siblings, Elaine Gilson (Junior), Mildred DeMeuse, Marian Lovering (Paul), Joyce Hilsabeck, Rita Delsart (Ken), Robert DeMeuse (Lois) and Donald DeMeuse (Marianne); and his brother-in-law Bill Felhofer.

He is survived by: his wife Diane N. Grovogel; his children, Marjorie Syring (Jeff) of Larsen, WI, Mark DeMeuse (Debra) and Peter DeMeuse (Linda) of Mascoutah, IL; his grandchildren, Chelsie Hardy (C. J.), Francesca Destache (Keith), Nick Karnitz, Bruce Karnitz (Lauren), Lacy Austad (Russ), Cody DeMeuse (Lindsay), Kylye Kopp (Chris) and Krista Brooks (Cody); his sister Marie Felhofer of Germantown, WI; and his sister-in-law Linda Schlaak (Bill). He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
