He is survived by: his wife Stacey; his children, Kyle Volkmann (Amy), Kambria Volkmann (Hunter) and Ella Volkmann; his grandchildren, Hadley, Jack Volkmann and Arthur Werth; his siblings, Kim Schopf (Gary), Konnie Gordon, Kris Volkmann and Keith Volkmann (Mary); and his brother-in-law George Henkel (Julie).

In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made in Kirk's name to Sevastopol Pioneer Athletic Booster Club (SPABC) (4550 Hwy 57, Sturgeon Bay WI 54235).
