It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth D. Potier of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, who passed away on February 23, 2023, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Schmelzer and Kathryn Schmelzer (Schlise); her husband Leonard Potier; her grandchildren, Tony, Max and Tracie Potier; her siblings, Marion Lienau (Bernard), Delbert Schmelzer (Thelma), Wilmer "Daw" Schmelzer, Tony Schmelzer, William Schmelzer (Gloria) and Joseph Schmelzer; and her siblings-in-law, Vergil Bosman, Myrtle Albert, Beatrice Larson, Jeanne Egan, Lillian Schmelzer and Judy Schmelzer.
She is survived by: her children, Peter Potier (Luann) of Nashville, TN, Mary Lardinois (Duane), John Potier (Nancy), Penny Jacobson (Jerry), Linda I'Anson (John) of Orlando, FL and Joseph Potier (Cindy); and her sister-in-law Arlene Schmelzer. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John Bosco School and Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
