He was predeceased by: his parents, William Schartner and Evelyn Schartner (Stoffel); his sisters, Anna Mae Smith (Ralph) and Elizabeth "Betsy" Schopf (Harold); his parents-in-law, Louis and Florence Lautenbach (Tipler); and his great grandchild Ellie Lynn.
He is survived by: his wife Leanne Lautenbach; his children, Scott Schartner, Mike Schartner, Kelly Kudlik (Dave), Quinn Schartner (Marisa) and Lynlee Hehli (Pete); his grandchildren, Shae and Brynn; his children, Kaylee, Josh, Paige, Anikah, Caden, Eva, Marissa, Karley, Carson, Faye, Logan and Griffin; his great grandchildren, Kaysen and Theo; and his sister-in-law Lisa Jacobs (David). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
