He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Yelk and Olva Yelk (Williams); his brother Cyril; his brother-in-law Earl Turner; and his daughter-in-law Cindy.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Jane Lau; his children, Gregory (Karin), Douglas (Margot) and Vicki Chaussee (Howard); his grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer (Sam Schemmel), Rachel Yelk, Adam, Emily, Matthew, Claire Chaussee, Kelly (Aaron Vial) and Jacob Yelk; and his great grandchildren, AJ, Delilah, Braxton and Danica.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sacred Hearts Endowment Fund.
