Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Paul Robert Verhoeven (Sun Prairie, Wisconsin), born in Monroe, Michigan, who passed away, on July 7, 2022. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Verhoeven (Luthy) and Robert Verhoeven; and his daughter Jennifer Verhoeven. He is survived by: his wife Marcia (Huizenga); his children, Jerome Verhoeven and Amelia Gerner (Mike); his grandchildren, Henri, Luna, Darby, Zoe, Mara, Paul and Quinn; and his great grandchild Zaiden. He is also survived by nine brothers and sisters, and many other relatives and friends.

Burial will be held privately at a future date. The family requests that all in attendance wear a mask.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bakke Athletics, for the Rock Steady Boxing Scholarship Fund, a program that supported and benefitted Paul and other persons with Parkinson's Disease.

“To Marci and family: I just learned of Paul's passing. My family home was across N. Monroe St. from the Verhoeven home in Monroe and I was in the same class year as Paul at Central and played football with him. I remember that with all his dedication to sports and studies and the positive results Paul was still liked by everyone for his mild demeaner and personality and that great smile. I know he must have been a great husband and father and is greatly missed. - Harry Valmassei”
