He was predeceased by: his parents, Adrian Amelse and Marie Amelse (Vandersanden); his wife Diane Esser; and his grandson Brian Amelse. He is survived by: his children, Adrian Amelse (Donna) and Deborah Amelse; his granddaughters, Andrea Amelse and Danielle Albertie (Justin); his great grandchildren, Malina Dewey, Brantley Albertie and Oakleigh Albertie; his brother Peter Amelse; and his sister-in-law LaVonne Horne. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, Euchre buddies and many friends.
