He was predeceased by: his daughter Janie Hartnett Resner; his brother David Hartnett; and his former wife Lou Hartnett. He is survived by: his wife Fran; his children, David Hartnett of St. Cloud, Jackie (Bob) of Staples, MN, Tessa Gilbertson (Al) of Baltic, SD, Jill Sajevic (Pete) of Shoreview, MN and Paul Hartnett of St. Louis Park, MN; his son-in-law Larry Resner; his grandchildren, Katie, Jill, Sarah, Jacin, Mackenzie, Nick, Cara, Aidan, Quinn and Keira; his siblings, Jane Phillips of Texas, Ann Watson (Jack) of Florida, Rod Hartnett (Sandy) of Colorado and Bob Hartnett of North Carolina; and his siblings' children, Liz, Jeff, Greg, Rusty and Rhonda.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Essentia Hospice.
