He was predeceased by: his parents, Helge Helgeson and Eunice Leola Hjornevik (Hanson); his son-in-law Charles Nelson; his siblings, Helge Hjornevik, Danny Hjornevik and Beatrice Hjornevik; and his siblings-in-law, Pliny Peterson, Lynus Waldera, David Lunde, Loretta Hjornevik and Darlene Lunde.
He is survived by: his daughter Kirsten Nelson; his stepdaughter Beverly Nelson (Roger); his grandson Nels Nelson; his siblings, Ken Hjornevik (Jeanne Buhr), Merle Hjornevik (Pam), Ardella Peterson and Susan Waldera; and his sisters-in-law, Joyce Hjornevik and Mary Berg (Eugene). He is also survived by two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Taylor Lutheran Church (111 Church St, Taylor, WI 54659). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
