He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Metzger and Emma Metzger (Bennett); and his brother Doug. He is survived by: his significant other Brita Bandle; his children, James Jr. (Jennifer) of North Carolina, Daniel, Jennifer and Sarah Metzgerof Milwaukee; and his siblings, Robert (Francis) of California, Patrick (Shawn) of South Carolina, Jeannie (Randy) of Montana and Laura Metzger of Florida.
