He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Betthauser and May Betthauser (Linehan) of Indian Creek, WI; his sisters, Mary Weiss and Roseann Langer; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Schuh, Burdette Langer, Douglas Olson and Loren Weiss.

He is survived by: his sons, Mark (Connie Jones) of Mauston, WI, Christopher (Leslie) of Waukesha and Steven (Sarah) of Waukesha; his wife Carol Jean Klug; and his siblings, Daniel, Rita Olson and Therese Schuh of Tomah. He is also survived by sons; grandchildren; great grandchildren.

A rosary was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the St. Michael's Catholic Church (18316 County Hwy N, Tomah, WI 54660). Visitation was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
