He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Steen and Margery Steen (Olson); his siblings, Eric Steen, Myron Steen and Leif Steen; and his brother-in-law Rodney Coenen.
He is survived by: his former wife Audrey P. Steen of Tomah; his sons, Kevin of Monett, MO and Brant (Tasha) of Tomah; his grandsons, Grayson and Nolan; his brother Jon Steen (Sue) of Tomah; and his siblings-in-law, Vernon Coenen (Annette) of Waukesha, Stanley Coenen of Wyeville, Allen Coenen (Linda) of Tomah, Bernie Coenen (Michelle) of Indianapolis, IN, Lawrence (Robin) of Oakdale, Marianne Waege (Gale) of Tomah, WI and Dorothy Coenen of Tomah. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home (801 E Monowau St, Tomah, WI 54660). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Double Barrel Bar/Holiday Lodge (10555 Freedom Rd, Tomah, WI 54660).
Memorials in Rick's memory may be made to the Tomah Youth Wrestling Club in honor of his commitment to supporting the youth in his community.
