He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Nelson and Thea Nelson (Odegaard); his sister Marie Welnak; and his grandson David Lincoln Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Janis Haugen; his daughter Cathy Nelson (Randy); his grandchildren, Justin, Alyssa Dittmann and Benjamin Nelson; and his great grandchildren, Lucas, Noah and Joshua.
