He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Hess and Ellen Hess; his wife Carrie Burton; his son Larry; his siblings, Billy, David, Arthur, Darold, Gary, Roger and Delores Hess; his granddaughter Cassie Hess; and his great grandchildren, Easton Hess, Kyle Vadner and Toni Gorecki.
He is survived by: his children, Randy Hess (Sue) of Grantsburg, WI, John Hess (Gemma), Dan Hess of Montana, Sherrie Lovato (Fred) of Texas and Caroline Greil (Steve) of Tomahawk; and his siblings, Lawrence Hess of Danbury, WI, Joyce Jones, Darlene Johnson, Jeanie Jensen, Laurel Fullenwider (Pfeiffer), Aleta Millen (Bruce) and Kathy Frazee (Floyd). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
