He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Chaples and Isabelle Grace Doughty (Wood); his wife Dorie Chaples; his children, Jeffery Chaples and Teri Reeves; his grandsons, Johnny Reeves and Jeff Bernard; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Licthle and Robert Gutowsky.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Chaples, Jr. and Dawn Milazzo (Mike); his sisters, Barbara Licthle and Rebecca Gutowsky; and his grandchildren, Michelle Pest (Trevor), Jeanelle Winston (Adam), Brandon Chaples, Jason Chaples, Tyler Milazzo (Katie), Jacob Milazzo and Amanda Blum (Tommy). He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
