He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Peterson and Iris Peterson; his wife Wendy Hanson of Shell Lake; and his parents-in-law, Dorothy and Russell Hanson.
He is survived by: his children, Carla Chester (Dean) and Garrett Peterson; his granddaughter Callie Fuhrmann (Derek); his siblings, Glenda Kaiser (Gary) and Brock Peterson (Charie); and his brothers-in-law, Mike Thomas (Bev), Dale Hansen (Kathy), Keith Hansen (Teresa) and Brian Hansen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Van's family would appreciate memorials be directed to the Rolling Hills Snowmobile and ATV Club, or the Church of the Nazarene in Van's name.
