He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his children, Renee Thomas (Clifford), John Paleka (Valerie) and Kurk Paleka (Kim); his grandchildren, Kayla Fleckenstein (David), Jonathan Paleka (Camila), Allison Paleka, Samantha Jentsch, Morgan Thomas, Hanna Thomas, Alexandra Paleka and Christina Paleka; and his great grandchildren, Bjorn, Ronan Bond, Claire and Lucy Fleckenstein. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations in John's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Peter's Catholic Church.
