He was predeceased by: his parents, George Wichlacz and Bernice Wichlacz (Taddy); and his in-laws, Fred and Nelda Wiegand. He is survived by: his nephew Aaron Wiegand (Jaclyn); his children, Robert (Ann) and Kathryn (Lynn); his grandchildren, Madeline (Keenan) and Jack (Jennifer); his great grandchildren, Amelia, Robert, Christan and Kenton; his brother Patrick (Bonnie); his sibling's children, Todd and Jorie; his brother-in-law Leon (Dorothy); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Alyssa (Christian), Samuel, Robert, Texan and Tonya; his nephew Brian Wiegand; Noah, Ayden, Clyde, Wyatt, Mack, Michael and Sue Lodel.

He then returned part time and continued working until COVID forced him to retire.
