The passing of Helen Bertha Granquist of Verona, Wisconsin leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on December 12, 2025 at the age of 104. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Martens and Marie Martens (Ahrens); her husband Dean Granquist; her siblings, Walter Martens (Evelyn), George Martens (Betty), Elsie Moeller (Henry) and Edna Meyers (Don); her siblings-in-law, Joe Granquist (Betty), Donna Lutt (Les) and Myla McElhose (Red); and her great grandchildren, Cole Schotanus and Macie Kate Majeres.
She is survived by: her children, Judith Dettwiler (Robert) of Verona, Carol Borglum (Mark) of Blaine, Minn, Susan Sitzmann (Fred) of Rochester and Dennis Granquist (Elizabeth) of Flagstaff, Ariz.. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. James Lutheran Church (427 S Main St, Verona, WI 53593). A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 29th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. Due to COVID pandemic, Helen moved to her daughter, Judy's (Bob) home until March 2025 when she moved to Four Winds Manor and Lodge.
